Ceferin did not mince his words as he criticised the two Spanish clubs for putting their own financial interests ahead of the beautiful game itself.
Football fans across the globe lashed out at Barca, Real, and Juventus in 2021 for promoting the Super League idea, but that does not seem to have influenced the European juggernauts.
"The Super League has become a Little Red Hood character, a wolf disguised as a grandmother. Who are they kidding? Nobody," said Ceferin.
"They are cartels above meritocracy and democracy. It's the money over the trophies. There is no room for cartels in European football.
"Football does not belong to anyone, in reality it belongs to all of us.
"The general interest must be above the individual interest of three clubs, two financiers and their spokesperson."
Ceferin went on to theorise that the ESL project is one which stems from a feeling of envy towards the financial success of the English Premier League.
"Jealousy is a bad adviser. Before it was UEFA that was criticized, now it seems that it is the Premier that is demonized and should be overthrown," he added.
"The Premier League was created through an egalitarian and supportive system between its clubs. More than a model to destroy is one to imitate."
