Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart have signed midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud from Premier League's Brighton.
This move sees Dahoud returning to his German roots on a loan deal until the season's end, accompanied by an option for a permanent acquisition.
Stuttgart's Sporting Director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, expressed his elation at the high-profile signing, stating, "We are delighted that Mo Dahoud, a player who will make us even better, has decided to join VfB Stuttgart." Wohlgemuth highlighted Dahoud's proven soccer quality both in Bundesliga and on the international stage, foreseeing his rapid integration into the team and acknowledging his potential as a valuable asset.
Dahoud, 28, reciprocated the enthusiasm, expressing his delight at returning to Bundesliga action. "It's great to be playing in the Bundesliga again. VfB is a great club with a great tradition and great fans," he remarked.
The midfielder, who previously made his mark with Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund, further emphasized his anticipation to reunite with familiar faces from the U21 national team.
Having debuted for Gladbach in 2014 and amassing 86 appearances before his move to Dortmund three years later, Dahoud brings a wealth of experience and skill to VfB Stuttgart's midfield. The club look set to benefit significantly from Dahoud's talents as they strive for success in the remainder of the season.
