VfB Stuttgart strengthen squad by signing striker Ermedin Demirovic

VfB Stuttgart have confirmed the acquisition of Bosnian striker Ermedin Demirovic, who transferred from Bundesliga rivals FC Augsburg.

The 26-year-old forward had an impressive stint as Augsburg's captain during the 2023/24 season, netting 15 goals and providing nine assists across 33 Bundesliga appearances.

His performance placed him among the top five players for goal contributions in the league.

Demirovic's journey in the Bundesliga has been notable. During his time with Augsburg and previously SC Freiburg, he accumulated a total of 124 appearances, scoring 30 goals and assisting 22 times.

This track record showcased his consistent ability to influence matches both as a scorer and a creator.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Demirovic stated, "I'm so pleased to be joining VfB and can hardly wait to get started. After we played in Stuttgart, I immediately became a fan of the club. I like the team here and the way they play.

"I know some of the guys already, so it shouldn't take me too long to settle in."

Stuttgart's board member for sport, Fabian Wohlgemuth, praised the new signing, highlighting Demirovic's proven capabilities. "Ermedin Demirovic has shown the particular qualities that he has over a number of years now and has proven himself to be one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga," Wohlgemuth remarked.

"Ermedin knows how to score goals and how to set them up. His experience and his mindset make him a real asset for our team. We're delighted that he'll be wearing the VfB shirt from now on and would like to give him a very warm welcome."

Demirovic's move to Stuttgart is expected to bolster the team's attacking options significantly. Known for his clinical finishing and creative playmaking, he is set to become a crucial part of the squad as they aim to improve their standing in the Bundesliga.

His familiarity with some of the Stuttgart players is likely to ease his transition and enable him to make an immediate impact on the pitch.
