West Ham consider move for AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori

The Hammers have shown renewed interest in the 26-year-old, who has made 142 appearances for the Italian side since his £24million move from Chelsea in 2021.

Tomori, who was instrumental in AC Milan's Serie A title win in his debut season under former head coach Stefano Pioli, now faces a potential change in role with Paulo Fonseca taking over the reins at the San Siro.

The English defender has also been capped five times for England and previously had loan spells with Derby County, Hull City, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

This interest in Tomori follows a recent setback for West Ham in their pursuit of N'Golo Kante. The club's £15million bid for the French midfielder was rebuffed last week.

Kante, who joined Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia on a staggering two-year deal worth £172million after leaving Chelsea in the summer of 2023, would see his stay in the Middle East end if a move to West Ham materialised.

Interestingly, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui had previously sought to sign Kante during his tenure at Real Madrid.

In a twist of fate, West Ham had come close to securing Tomori on loan in 2020, only for the deal to fall through at the last moment.

With Tomori's future at AC Milan uncertain under the new management, West Ham's renewed interest could offer the defender a new opportunity in the Premier League.
