Wolves welcome new signing Emmanuel Agbadou

Wolverhampton Wanderers have bolstered their defence with the signing of 27-year-old Ivorian international Emmanuel Agbadou from Stade de Reims.

The Premier League side paid 18 million euros for the versatile defender, with an additional 2 million in potential add-ons included in the deal.

Agbadou has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Wolves, which also includes an option for a further year.

His move comes after an impressive stint in Ligue 1, where he spent the past two-and-a-half seasons as a pivotal figure for Reims under managers Will Still and Luka Elsner.

The signing provides much-needed reinforcements for Wolves, who are battling to stay out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Currently, they are level on points with 18th-placed Ipswich Town but remain above due to a superior goal difference.

The addition of Agbadou could be crucial as the club looks to stabilise its defensive line and climb the table.

The pursuit of Agbadou follows an unsuccessful attempt to sign 26-year-old Kevin Danso from RC Lens, who turned down Wolves' approach.

The club quickly shifted focus to secure Agbadou, a proven talent with international experience.
