Moukoko's future at Borussia Dortmund appears uncertain after his agent announced the 19-year-old's intention to leave the club this summer. The agent claimed that promises made by Dortmund's management during Moukoko's contract extension negotiations last year have not been fulfilled. Currently, the agent is exploring interest from clubs in England, Spain, and France.
"Youssoufa has huge potential, which unfortunately he couldn't showcase last season," Moukoko's agent Patrick Williams told Fabrizio Romano. "He was promised a lot before he signed, but it wasn't realized. His focus has always been on playing and his developmentânot on anything else as the media often suggested."
Patrick Williams criticized Borussia Dortmund for allowing Moukoko to leave. "I believe BVB is making a mistake in letting Youssoufa go," Williams added. "With so little playing time, everyone knows that Youssoufa's market value will be low, and Dortmund can't expect much."
"We wanted a different outcome, but that's the nature of football. Youssoufa is very clear-headed, extremely focused, and knows what he wants for his career."
Borussia Dortmund is reportedly open to selling Moukoko this summer, having already strengthened their attack with the signing of Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart. With four strikers in their squad, both Moukoko and Sebastien Haller are available for transfer.
Moukoko still has two years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract, and it remains to be seen which clubs might be interested in acquiring the highly-rated striker. However, his agent's comments are unlikely to be well-received by Dortmund's management.
