After successfully staging their first trials in 2025 for players born in 2011 and 2012 this past weekend, the SAFA-Transnet School of Excellence is preparing to search nationwide for the first time in six years.
After spending over R100 million on the Transnet-SAFA School of Excellence in the past five years, the state-owned enterprise has reiterated to SABC Sport the decision its Board took in 2022, to exit the financial sponsorship of the school due to financial considerations.
The financial difficulties at the Transnet-SAFA School of Excellence (SOE) have gone from bad to worse after electricity was cut off on Tuesday leaving the 75 boys at the school in the dark and showering with cold water.
