Karabo Meso excited for national team call up ahead of ODI Tri-Series

Proteas Women Wicketkeeper-batter Karabo Meso says she is excited to reconnect with the senior team ahead of the upcoming One Day International Tri-Series.

Meso has joined the 20-player squad for a week-long training camp at Centre of Excellence in Tshwane as they look to compete against hosts Sri Lanka and India from 27 April - 11 May.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Meso says she remains positive ahead of the tournament and looks to maintain her good form.

"Very excited to be part of this team again and expectations, people say there are expectations but I mustn't put that in my head. Like I said, being positive and just playing the brand of cricket that I know," said Meso.

Meso is part of the uncapped trio in ODI cricket, including all-rounder Miané Smit and spinner Seshnie Naidu.

She unpacks experience in camp with their seniors.

"Really amazing, I think not taking a lot of advice from different players and when they playing games like how can you process pressure. I think it's already an amazing thing as a youngster coming up and looking up to them," she added.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed an incredible season at club level, winning the SA20 Schools title with Steyn City and also helping the Lions ladies to a Pro50 Series championship.

"It's really amazing, now I'm at the best I would say, I think I had a rough patch last year but now just look forward and just enjoying the cricket and just being KB."
