Borussia Mönchengladbach could make a move to sign forward Dion Beljo from Croatian side NK Osijek for a fee around ¬6 million in the January transfer window, according to Sky Germany.
Last summer, the Bundesliga side showed interest in signing the 20-year-old forward but the deal never materialised as Osijek wanted ¬10 million for the youngster.
With Marcus Thuram's contract falling due at Gladbach in June, Beljo is seen as an ideal replacement. His contract at Osijek is up in 2025.
Beljo has looked very useful so far this season having scored nine goals in 19 games.
In an interview with Sky Germany, Beljo hinted that he was "ready" to make a move to the Bundesliga with Gladbach.
"I know that Borussia Mönchengladbach have an excellent team. It's a German club with a lot of tradition, and I follow the path of Gladbach," he told Sky Germany.
"Let's see. I believe that I'm capable of moving to the Bundesliga sooner or later.
"It's a great league for a young player like me to develop. I only hear good things about the Bundesliga," he added.
