The German side are now preparing to lock horns with FC Barcelona over two legs, with a coveted semi-final place on the line.
The tie kicks off with the first leg on Tuesday, 9 April, at 21h00 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, before the return leg at the formidable Signal Iduna Park.
Last season's Champions League runners-up, who were edged out by Real Madrid in the final, still have their dramatic quarter-final against Atletico Madrid fresh in their minds.
Dortmund slipped to a 2-1 defeat in the first leg at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano but roared back with a thrilling 4-2 win at home. That goal-laden turnaround has fans dreaming of another blockbuster tie this time around.
The buzz around the second leg, set for Tuesday, 15 April, at 21h00, is already off the charts. Signal Iduna Park, with its 81,365 capacity, is the stage where Dortmund hope to finish the job, but demand for tickets has soared past 300,000. "It's incredible, three stadiums wouldn't be enough," a club official remarked.
With such overwhelming interest, the club will ballot the available seats among their members.
Dortmund's home ground is renowned for its spine-tingling atmosphere, and for a shot at the semi-finals, their first since 2019, it's set to be unforgettable. "The Yellow Wall will make it a nightmare for Barcelona," said ex-Dortmund star Jurgen Klopp recently.
The Catalans, led by Hansi Flick, face a daunting trip after the opener in Barcelona on 9 April.
