Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be weighing up the signing of two international strikers as they prepare for the upcoming 2022/2023 Premier Soccer League season, which gets underway on 5 August.

Chiefs, who have signed a total of six players so far this season, are yet to replace the likes of Leonardo Castro, Samir Nurkovic and Lazalous Kambole that they released during the off-season.

To close this gap, Amakhosi are believed to have already welcomed two strikers to their camp, which is currently underway in Limpopo.

SABC Sport has learnt that Burundian international Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who was in Johannesburg last month when he scored and was sent off as Burundi held Namibia to a 1-1 stalemate in a 2023 AFCON qualifier, is looking to impress coach Arthur Zwane along with former TS Galaxy striker Wayde Lekay.

Bimenyimana, 24, is a well-traveled striker who has played in the CAF Confederation Cup for Rwandan outfit Rayon Sports, as well as in Slovakia, Latvia and Kazakhstan, while Lekay, 25, rose to the local top flight in 2020 after spending time in the lower divisions.

The second international has been identified as Musa Kamara from Sierra Leone, where he was previously on the books of Bo Rangers, as he now looks to grow in one of Africa's more prominent leagues.

The 21-year-old has yet to touch down on South African soil, however, as he awaits a travel itinerary from Amakhosi.

"Yes, he™s coming to Chiefs and everything is fine. We have been negotiating with them for some time now but we are waiting for traveling details before coming to SA," sources close to the player™s camp told SABC Sport.

œThey sent us an invitation letter and we did the visa application and it was successful. Musa is a top striker and is currently doing well in the national team as well. Chiefs is a big club that would suit him perfectly."

The 21-year-old was part of the Leone Stars at the recent African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon and scored a well-taken left-footed strike against Ivory Coast as they drew 2-2 in the group stage.

During the recent AFCON 2023 qualifiers against Nigeria and Guinea, he provided an assist during the 2-1 defeat to the Super Eagles and scored against the National Elephants as they drew 2-2.

Should the two strikers impress the Amakhosi technical team, it™s believed they would complement the team's attack and relieve pressure on the likes of Khama Billiat and new recruit Ashley Du Preez.

Chiefs also have all five of their foreign slots available after releasing Kenyan international midfielder Anthony Akumu recently.
