Leslie Notsi highlights Bafana Bafana’s progress in the Hugo Broos era

Lesotho coach Leslie Notsi says Bafana Bafana’s tactical discipline and speed are just some of the big elements of their play in the last three years that have improved drastically under head coach Hugo Broos.

Lesotho came with a well-marshalled tactical approach of a low block during Friday’s 2-0 loss to Bafana Bafana.

It worked perfectly in the first half but was broken down by Broos’ tactical masterclass in the second half.

Notsi has played against different Bafana teams in previous years and looks at how Broos has transformed this team.

"Tactically, they have improved a lot and there's a lot of speed that they play with and the team that they have, the core of the team when you look at it, you see it is made up of teams that are doing very well internationally in the CAF Champions League,” Notsi said.

“So, the exposure that they've had and the manner in which they conduct themselves in their respective clubs you'd expect to have to have a team like the current one and the self-belief is there which is something that has always been there for the South African national teams and I think again the contribution also of the technical team it's also making the team thrive."

Lesotho left for Rwanda early yesterday, driving back from Polokwane to connect a flight in Johannesburg.

They play Amavubi on Tuesday, and Notsi says they will have to sharpen their attack as they aim to get back to winning ways.

"We have to be more attack-minded because we have played Rwanda before so now we know what to expect so it's not like a closed book like before so like the question that I was asked earlier with the five points difference, so we need to see to it that we get into the mix in terms of points,” he added.

“So, we've got nothing to lose, all we need to do is now take the game to our hosts on Tuesday and that's how we're going to approach the match."
