Chiefs unveil five new players

As earlier reported by SABC Sport, Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signings of Dillon Solomons, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and George Matlou from Swallows FC, while also welcoming Siyethemba Sithebe and promoting Mduduzi Shabalala.

SABC Sport on Monday confirmed that Chiefs had struck an agreement with Swallows to negotiate personal terms with Matlou, who has since agreed to a two-year contract with a one-year option.

Meanwhile, Mahlatsi and Solomons have penned three and four-year deals respectively, after earlier receiving the Dube Birds' blessing to head over to Naturena.

Sithebe, who signed a pre-contract with Amakhosi in January and was exiled from AmaZulu's first team as a result, has been handed a two-year deal until 30 June 2024, with Shabalala landing a three-year contract following his displays with the club's reserve team.

The five players join former Stellenbosch FC duo Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez as the new faces in coach Arthur Zwane's dressing room ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season, which is expected to kick off in early August.

SABC Sport understands Chiefs have also not given up on trying to lure Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu to the club, although they face stiff competition from PSL rivals Mamelodi Sundowns as well as the player's desire to remain in Europe.
