Bafana Bafana international Victor Letsoalo has broken his silence over earlier reports linking him with a move to either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.
The forward signed for Sekhukhune United last month in what was a shock move in the football fraternity when talk was rife that his next big transfer would be to one of the two Soweto giants.
SABC Sport reported in May that Royal AM had in fact priced Letsoalo out of the market by slapping a R20-million price tag on his head, which was obviously out of the Glamour Boys reach - hence the deal did not materialise.
Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane had openly spoken about their interest in Letsoalo but, when asked whether he was ever approached by Amakhosi, the player said the only genuine offer came from Sekhukhune.
Its not that I didnt want to join Chiefs or Pirates, I came here because this is the opportunity that presented itself, he told the public broadcasters sports desk.
I think the whole Chiefs interest became a bit political, thats maybe why I did not go to Chiefs and ended up here at Sekhukhune, and I am satisfied with that.
Letsoalo is moving on and looking forward to the start of the 2022/23 season under coach Kaitano Tembo, who gets his reign underway with a DStv Premiership away clash against Maritzburg United on Saturday night.
I saw this as a big opportunity when Sekhukhune came calling. I chose them because I am from Limpopo and I have played for Baroka in the past, so this club is from my home team and that is what motivated me to sign for them, Letsoalo, the second highest scorer (15 goals) behind Peter Shalulile of Mamelodi Sundowns last season, explained.
I think they are also a big brand like the big clubs - they are all in the Premier League arent they? And I am happy here.
