Eastern Cape™s Thunderbirds Ladies frustrated the Tshwane University of Technology in their own backyard to walk away with a point in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Thunderbirds defenders closed down TUT current top goal scorer and captain, Busisiwe Ndimeni and former Banyana Banyana player, Marry Ntsweng and kept them off the score sheet.

Coach, Thembalethu Apleni was undeniable pleased with his players™ efforts.

The Butterworth side has majorly improved since their first season of the league. Apleni says confidence of players will turn the team into a big name club in women™s football.

œI think everything must come to an end, they have been beating us for a long time, and it™s for the first we are drawing and we are going to turn izinto (things) upside come second round. I think the opponents played well they got chances more than, but we were just defending so that we can steal a point and then we succeeded on that said Apleni.

Meanwhile TUT assistant coach Lucky Sibiya in his reaction to the match he indicated that there are no longer small teams in the league as it has improved overtime.

œNow you look at where Thunderbirds is on the log and then you look at where we are, now you can tell the league is improving it™s not so much of who™s doing what, who is not performing well, it more of the league-all of it, it™s getting there slowly but surely. Even the coaching, the coaches are doing a marvellous job said Sibiya

Although a second goalless draw was not favourable for the hosts; Sibiya said the team is still right on track with their goals.
