EFC president: This event is 13 years in the making

EFC president Cairo Howarth says Thursday night’s landmark event, with Nicholas Hwende finally able to defend his bantamweight title against Nkazimulo Zulu on the main card, has been 13 years in the making.

The organisers have not been deterred by middleweight contender Pupanga Tresor declining a new challenger in Ziko Makengele after champion Luke Michael tore his ACL in fight camp and had to withdraw. As a result, Tresor has been removed from the fight card.

One of the memorable stories this year was Cameron Saaiman signing an international contract with UFC in Las Vegas, proving that athletes from the stable are among the best on the world stage.  Howarth says they are ecstatic to close out 2022 with epic bouts.

“We are extremely excited for EFC100 this Thursday, 1 - December. It is the biggest event in the EFC streets to close up the massive year for the organisation, an event that is 13-years in the making,” said Howarth.

“This historic fight card features two incredible title fighs in one night with the formidable Cole Henning facing the dangerous, undefeated Tshilomba Mikixi and the electrifying champion Nicholas Hwende clashes with legendary former champ Nkazimulo Zulu, plus a host of other top quality matches and rising stars.”
