He closed with a 69 for a total of five under par, hitting an impressive six birdies.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Veerman says he is still coming to terms with the fact that he not only got the job done but managed to claim the championship.
"It was amazing. Words can't describe things like this, it's a surreal thing especially since I was kind of lurking around there the whole week but I have been as well in the last four, five tournaments that I played and then you don't quite get the job done. So, to come in at the back 9 and to have a shot at it and to walk away with a trophy is just like what just happened?”
Despite a powerful display in windy conditions to claim a second European tour title, Veerman praised the Gary Player course stating that it is the premier course to play in.
"Very, very, it is a premier golf course to play. I mean all the screens look like clovers. There's not any course in the world that you'd play that has a green complex like this and the wind that blows like this. It's just a joy to play and even better to come out on top," he added.
The 32-year-old is born Dutch and says that played to his advantage with South African fan base leaning more towards him because of his heritage.
"It was great, it was like getting home field advantage without being home but it was great, everybody supporting me and yeah, the draw, you feel like you've got the crowd behind your back and like the strength of the people is helping you so it was great."
