All Blacks get Rugby Championship campaign back on track after thrashing Argentina

The All Blacks thrashed Argentina 42-10 at Eden Park in Auckland as the hosts bounced back from a shock defeat in their Rugby Championship opener.

Scott Robertson's charges were emphatic in their victory as they scored six tries to the visitors' one.

The win also extended the All Blacks' unbeaten record at Eden Park, which now stands at 50 matches.

With heavy rain making conditions tricky, the home side ran in five tries in the first half to put the result beyond doubt.

Damian McKenzie claimed the opening try from the second instance after a Jordie Barrett chip as the All Blacks identified space behind Argentina's defence.

Will Jordan scored the first of two tries when the wing profited from a snipe and offload from scrumhalf TJ Perenara.

Where last week they repeatedly forced the issue, this time the All Blacks displayed patience on attack, with Caleb Clarke and Beauden Barrett profiting from sustained pressure.

The hosts took a commanding 35-3 lead into the halftime break but lacked the same accuracy and fluency after the interval.

Both teams scored one try apiece in the second half while it was good game from the kicking tee for Damian McKenzie who slotted six conversions.
