Beast Mtawarira looking forward to another dominant Boks display in Cardiff

Springbok legend Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira expects to see another dominant Bokke performance as they round up their Castle Outgoing traditional European tour this coming weekend against Wales in Cardiff.

Mtawarira attended this past weekend’s 29-20 win for the Boks over England at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham.

The 2019 world champion and former Sharks Loosehead Prop also expects Bok coach Rassie Erasmus to ring some changes and give other players a chance against Wales.

"Yeah, no, obviously Wales will also be desperate. You know they've been struggling but I think we can take a lot of confidence. We have a lot of depth, there's a lot of positives you know, so I'm sure Rassie will ring the changes and give the other guys a chance,” Mtawarira said.

So, I think everyone in that team is hungry, so, whoever he puts on the field is doing the job and I'm sure they'll do the job next week again."

Mtawarira was also impressed by the character of the four-time world champions as they showed their class against a desperate English team on home soil.

"It was a wonderful game, it was very competitive from the onset and England played really well, it's just that they didn't have enough and the Springboks are just on a high now,” he added.

“Every player on that Springbok team put their hand up. I'm truly proud of what they are achieving, they are just going higher and higher so this game was a massive milestone for them and congrats to the Bokke.”

Erasmus had spoken about the Boks' need to stamp their authority and improve their record against the hosts at Twickenham before this game, and Mtawarira believes that they achieved that.

"Yes, they have certainly left the stamp. This was a very hungry England side that has lost the last 2-0 biters against New Zealand and Australia so they are very desperate.

“So, for us to come and handle the pressure and be able to put them away comfortably, it's a massive notch on Rassie and the players. It's now becoming a massive hunting ground for us, so hopefully from now on."
