Feiberg-Mngomezulu ran out for his first test cap against the All Blacks at number 10, contributing 16 points from tee in the first of two high-pressure Rugby Championship match-ups on home soil.
Visibly emotional after the match, which saw the Boks come from 10 points down with just over 10 minutes left on the clock, the 22-year-old spoke of his pride at having soaked up the pressure in a historical clash – in front of a packed 60 000-capacity crowd.
"Joh, this is my dream man, I don't even wanna get emotional again. All Blacks at Ellis Park was a lot of pressure on me for this game. I know the guys will say they don't see it but I see it so I really wanted to do well for the team, helping us get a victory, that was just special for me and we were driving to see how much support there is. It was amazing, I'm super proud to be a Springbok," Feinberg-Mngomezulu said.
After the two converted tries from substitutes Kwagga Smith and Grant Williams, Feinburg-Mngomezulu was full of praise for the world champions' defensive discipline to maintain the four-point margin.
"That was a 80-minute game, as we all saw, something that we spoke about in the week, no switching off, no soft moments and for the side like the All Blacks you can't afford to switch off,” he added.
“So, credit to the boys; we didn't switch off even in those last couple of minutes where they were trying to work out their half. The discipline, no penalties, and great tackle fights."
Attention now turns to Cape Town, where the Springboks will host New Zealand for the second of their two Rugby Championship tests at DHL Stadium on Saturday at 17:00.
