Springboks ready for Argentina 'final'
Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber is under no illusion of the challenge laying ahead in their final Castle Lager Rugby Championship test against Argentina this Saturday.
South Africa have it all to play for with the Championship title still within their grasp as they sit level on points with New Zealand heading into the last round of fixtures.
With the All Blacks facing Australia in Auckland on Saturday (09:05 SA time), depending on the outcome there, the Boks may need to beat Los Pumas convincingly to overcome the points difference and ultimately clinch the title.
But Nienaber is wary of the threat the Argentines pose in various areas of their game and expected a final-esque encounter at the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium come 17:05 on Saturday.
"I think we're going to expect a test match like a final from them, in terms of good setpieces - I think they probably have one of the best line-outs in the competition if you look at success rate," said Nienaber.
"They've got a good maul and have scored a couple of maul tries. I thought they had our number [last weekend] from a scrum point of view, so it's something we will have to work hard on.
"Argentina are playing test match rugby, and that's why they are in with a shout. They had some good results - they gave Australia 50 points, they've beaten New Zealand away from home for the first time.
"So, they will be a tough team and I expect nothing more than a final from them."
