Agent speaks on Siyethemba Sithebe’s future with Richards Bay

Richards Bay FC midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe’s future with the club is uncertain following a suspension, and his representative Musawakhe Sithebe gave more clarity on the situation, indicating a termination of contract.

The midfielder joined the Natal Rich Boys at the beginning of the season, following a challenging spell with Kaizer Chiefs.

SABC Sport understands that Richards Bay FC is working on terminating his contract due to ill-discipline.

According to three insiders within the club, Sithebe raised concerns with the technical team following their poor run in the Betway Premiership, which led to coach Brandon Truter's firing.

It is believed that Sithebe was not happy with how the team played tactically and raised those concerns as a senior player, which did not sit well with the management.

Another insider revealed that there are other issues that the Newcastle-born raised, which were affecting the squad.

The third insider revealed that before the AmaZulu FC game, Sithebe was called to a meeting to discuss his concerns, where he was told he has been suspended and an investigation will be made for further action.

The club came back to him with a termination letter.

His representative usawakhe Sithebe speaking exclusively with Victor Molefe on Prime Time Sport on Thursday evening, did confirm about talks of termination, however raised concerns that he only heard that from the player as the team did not consult him.

“I can’t say whether Sithebe is still Richards Bay player or not. However, I’m aware of their intentions to terminate his contract” – Sithebe told Victor Molefe on Ukhozi FM

“I was not consulted as his representative about all of that, I’m hoping to meet the club and find solutions. It does not look like they still want to keep him, though. We will find out at our next meeting”

When the club was requested for comment, they politely declined to respond with their media officer Xolani Zungu requesting not to make any comments about the issue.

“With all due respect, I’m not aware of that and will not comment on something I’m not informed about.”

The Natal Rich Boys will face Mamelodi Sundowns on their last league game of 2024.

They will be looking to wrap up a challenging year with positive results.
