Despite an impressive opening, including three victories from their first four games, the team has struggled to maintain momentum, with their last three league fixtures all ending in draws.
The latest result, a 1-1 stalemate, saw them drop crucial points, leaving them nine points adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich after 10 matches.
Aleix Garcia, who joined the club from Girona for â¬18 million in the summer, remains confident that the team can turn their fortunes around.
"We have to correct our mistakes, but the team has confidence, we are absolutely confident," said the Spaniard.
"When all the players return from the international break, we will talk together. We will try to correct these mistakes, and I think that Xabi [Alonso] is a good coach and will find a solution.
"We need a strong mentality now. Of course we are now nine points behind Bayern, but the season is long, and I believe that we can improve.
"We have a lot of quality in this team and will fight for everything."
Several Leverkusen players are currently away on international duty, meaning the most recent draw against Bochum has yet to be fully analysed.
One of the concerning trends for the team has been their inability to hold onto leads. Bayer Leverkusen have dropped 11 points after taking the lead in Bundesliga games this season, a statistic they'll be keen to address.
Looking ahead, Leverkusen will face key fixtures after the international break, including home games against Heidenheim, St. Pauli, and Freiburg, as well as away trips to Union Berlin and Augsburg to close out the year.
