Adams participated in the 2022 World Cup as part of the US team and experienced relegation with Leeds during his initial season in the Premier League. He had joined Leeds from RB Leipzig for a fee of £15million.
Unfortunately, Adams sustained a hamstring injury in March, which prevented him from making any further appearances in the league.
After being relegated to the Championship, Leeds recognised that they were likely to lose Adams as well as his international teammate Brenden Aaronson.
Aaronson subsequently embarked on a loan spell with Union Berlin, while Adams had previously garnered attention from Newcastle.
Chelsea have now lined up a move for Adams. The midfielder is valued at approximately £25million, and Chelsea are of the opinion that he would be a good fit for their team in west London.
Leeds anticipate that the 24-year-old will depart Elland Road by the end of the month, and Chelsea are not the sole Premier League club showing interest. Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Brighton, and Brentford are all closely monitoring the situation.
Adams was present at Leeds' inaugural Championship match of the season against Cardiff on Sunday, during which his team managed to salvage a 2-2 draw.
During this transfer window, Chelsea have already secured promising talents like Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku. However, the team are currently lacking depth in the midfield department following the departures of Mason Mount, N'Golo Kante, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Additionally, Rennes standout Lesley Ugochukwu has recently been added to Mauricio Pochettino's available options, which also encompass Enzo Fernandez, Conor Gallagher, and Andrey Santos.
