Chuene arrived in Turkey early this week, where she passed her medical examination and signed a contract with the Turkish side, to part ways with South Africa's leading women’s team Mamelodi Sundowns after seven years.
Chuene says she has received the warmest reception at Beylerbeyi SK and hopes for a decent run in a much-improved league.
"There is quite a couple of teams I think out of the 16 teams that are competing in the league here in Turkey, all of them they have the resources to prepare for the league. So, I'm expecting a very competitive league. I'm expecting a very high-tempo game, week in and week out,"Chuene said.
"I've been to a few sessions with the club, the preseason session and it's a professional team. You can tell it's a professional team that's playing in a professional league. The way they do things is different from South Africa.
“I mean of course at Sundowns we are professional, more or less the same thing as how we do things at Sundowns. In terms of the professional level, it will be a little bit higher because of the technical team that is here. It's quite a big technical team."
The 33-year-old says winning the CAF Women’s Champions League twice with the Brazilians, has been one of her biggest career highlights and has given her exposure to the European football market - as offers to sign her came from different parts of Europe and America after a successful football season last year.
"It has been a good year for me, I was not surprised when I had offers across Europe, I had offers from France, I had offers from Mexico obviously here in Turkey. So, I wasn't surprised, I think my performance throughout 2023 has been good. I hope now that I have moved into a different direction, in a different country, a different league which is very competitive."
