Goodman Mosele haunts parent club as Chippa hold Orlando Pirates

Chippa United hit back in the second half to hold Orlando Pirates to a 1-1 draw in their PSL clash played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The Buccaneers took the lead after 24 minutes through Bandile Shandu but Goodman Mosele, who is loan to the Chilli Boys from Pirates, found the back of the net midway through the second half.

Pirates now have four points after three matches this season while for Chippa it was a third successive draw to start their league campaign.

The game started with both sides looking to go on attack with the match getting stretched from an early stage.

The Soweto giants took the lead when Monnapule Saleng found Relebohile Mofokeng in space down the right-hand side, with the latter putting in a low cross that was poked home by Shandu.

It was a second goal in consecutive league games for the defender who also found the net in their 4-2 victory over Royal AM a week ago.

The home side though showed enough on attack to remain a threat and were rewarded in the 65th minute when Mosele collected the ball in the penalty area from a throw-in and showed good skill to turn his defender and beat Sipho Chaine in the Pirates goal.

The visitors looked most likely to find a winner in the final 20 minutes with MTN8 hat-trick hero Zakhele Lepasa going close on a couple of occasions.

In end though Chippa did enough to earn a point from the contest while Pirates would no doubt be frustrated with the outcome.
