Speaking at Friday's press conference, Kompany avoided committing to a timeline but offered a positive outlook.
"Things are looking good," Kompany remarked. "I don't want to pressure the medical team with deadlines, but there's a chance he could play again this year if everything goes perfectly."
Kane sustained a minor hamstring injury during Bayern's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund last week. The issue ruled him out of the DFB-Pokal defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and will sideline him for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Heidenheim and Tuesday's Champions League fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk.
However, reports suggest he might return for Bayern's meeting with Mainz next week if his recovery progresses smoothly.
The England captain resumed light training on Thursday and completed a 20-minute individual session on Friday, raising hopes among Bayern fans eager for his swift comeback.
Neuer and Gnabry Add to Injury Concerns
Bayern will also be without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and winger Serge Gnabry for Saturday's game. Kompany confirmed Neuer is dealing with rib issues, while Gnabry continues to recover from a knee problem sustained during the Leverkusen defeat.
"Manuel has rib problems, and Serge won't be involved," Kompany stated. "That's as clear as it gets."
Daniel Peretz is set to start in goal, taking over from Neuer, who missed the final training session before the Heidenheim match.
Pavlovic Ready for Action
Kompany also addressed the availability of Aleksandar Pavlovic, who recently returned to full fitness after a broken collarbone. While Kompany refrained from confirming his place in the starting lineup, he assured fans the young defender is match-ready.
"Pavlo is available with no restrictions," Kompany said. "He hasn't played in a while, but he's ready."
In addition to Kane, Neuer, and Gnabry, Bayern are managing injuries to Hiroki Ito (foot), Joao Palhinha (groin), and Josip Stanisic (knee), leaving Kompany with significant selection challenges ahead of crucial fixtures.
