JVW captain Robyn Moodaly aims for third spot or above

JVW captain Robyn Moodaly says her side is looking to repeat the heroics of the 2023 season or do even better.

In only their third campaign in the Hollywoodbets Super League, the Blue Diamonds finished third, their best ever position since gaining promotion.

In the previous two seasons, they finished fourth on both occasions behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and the second-placed University of the Western Cape (UWC).

Currently lying fourth, Moodaly says the third spot will be ideal, if they don’t go higher.

"Yes, definitely, we always have goals individually and as a team, we addressed at the beginning of the season that we wanna repeat last season and if possible do better but we also gotta be realistic and take each game as it comes,” Moodaly said.

“Also understanding that the teams have done better. So, that is the aim, the aim is to finish top three and that is exactly what we're working towards and so far, we just need to keep pushing our goal individually and collectively and I think we are in the right direction."

With the second round already underway and teams focused on the finish line, Moodaly says experience will be needed to stay in the race for a finish among the top teams.

"If you look at the log, I think we are currently fourth and now it's a matter of being consistent and keep working hard no matter the opponent,” she added.

“But the tables can turn very quickly because it's the turnaround of the season and now it's basically do or die and we wanna see who's gonna actually make it to the top and it comes down to consistency, hard work and experience I think as well."
