SABC Sport can confirm that Mamelodi Sundowns and defender Harold Majadibodu have gone their separate ways on a mutual agreement.

Majadibodu is a Sundowns development product that was promoted to the first team in 2019 under then-coach Pitso Mosimane, after showing plenty of promise in the club's reserve side.

However, things have not been so fruitful for the 27-year-old, who has spent the last 18 months on loan at Motsepe Foundation Championship side University of Pretoria, prior to which he was also loaned to Ajax Cape Town and Mthatha Bucks.

Having yet to make his Premiership debut, Majadibodu will now have the chance to do so elsewhere as he departs Chloorkop as a free agent.

"Yes, Mazola. I can confirm that we reached an agreement with Sundowns for Harold™s clearance," Basia Michaels of QT Sports told SABC Sport.

"And, no, we didn™t wrestle. We have a respectful relationship with the club and we had a number of conversations about the path we are looking to take with Harold's career.

"Doing things in that manner always leaves the door open for us to return to Sundowns, should that be the case in years to come, but now it™s time for us to move forward and grow his career."

The lanky right-back is believed to be on his way to KwaZulu-Natal, where topflight newcomers Richards Bay are expected to snap him up.

Asked for comment on the player's next move, Michaels remained coy and insisted it is still being mapped out.
