The Downs mentor went on to question why the reigning Defender of the Season continues to be overlooked by his Bafana Bafana counterpart Hugo Broos.
Mokwena explained why the 28-year-old has the qualities to be a national team asset.
"Losing Sailor is massive. He defends well. He's got speed power and attack well. I heard Mark Gleeson in commentary in the previous match against [Orlando] Pirates saying it boggles his mind that Sailor is not in the national team. I fully agree with him," said Mokwena.
The coach insists Mudau has similar attributes to that of striker and goal ace Peter Shalulile.
"He's a specimen. His qualities are unbelievable. He's a little bit like Peter. Very different on the physical make up."
One player though who is back in the Bafana fold is centre-back Mothobi Mvala, who was also serving a one-match ban and unavailable against Chiefs. Mokwena elaborated on his strengths too.
"Mothibi has become so important for us. Not just from a build-up perspective and his ability to find the pass in the next and help us with the press, but the physicality on set peiees, the physicality on one-on-ones. Sometimes to be brave to defend against one striker with each centre-back."
The duo will return on Wednesday in the DStv Premiership clash against Stellenbosch, who were eliminated by Pirates in the MTN8 on Sunday evening.
