Man City aim to sign RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo amid Kevin De Bruyne uncertainty

Manchester City are reportedly determined to secure the signing of RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo, regardless of the future of their current star midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne.

City's interest in Olmo has intensified following his impressive performances at Euro 2024.

Kevin De Bruyne, now in the final year of his contract, is attracting interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, with Al Ittihad reportedly having a verbal agreement with him.

Acknowledging that De Bruyne's days as the first-choice playmaker may be numbered, Manchester City are eager to activate Olmo's £51million release clause.

Talks with RB Leipzig about Olmo's availability had begun before Euro 2024, highlighting City's long-standing interest in the Spanish international.

In addition to Olmo, Manchester City are also considering Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze.

Both City and Tottenham Hotspur are open to activating Eze's £60million release clause.

Eze, used off the bench by Gareth Southgate at Euro 2024, scored 11 goals in 27 Premier League appearances last season.

Crystal Palace, having already lost Michael Olise, are determined to keep Eze despite the release clause.

The club are expected to make significant efforts to persuade the talented midfielder to stay at Selhurst Park.

As the transfer window progresses, Manchester City's pursuit of Dani Olmo and interest in Eberechi Eze underscore their strategic planning to bolster their squad amidst uncertainty surrounding Kevin De Bruyne's future.
