Manuel Mbom leaves Werder Bremen to join Danish outfit Viborg

Manuel Mbom has departed Werder Bremen to join Danish first division club Viborg.

The 23-year-old joines Viborg with immediate effect. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the details of the transfer.

"It's important for Manuel and his development that he plays a lot after his long period of injury. He will get more minutes in Viborg than with us in Bremen. For this reason, we agreed to the transfer. Manu has come very far at Werder and made the jump from the academy to the first-team squad. We wish him all the very best for his new challenge," explained Clemens Fritz, head of professional football for the Green-Whites.

At the age of 13, Manuel Mbom joined Bremen from Göttingen and played in Werder's youth team. For the first-team, he played 23 Bundesliga games and 19 matches in the second division. He also made four appearances in the DFB-Pokal and scored one goal.
