The 26-year-old Austrian centre-back has had a solid year, both individually and as part of the team, despite facing challenges.
Friedl, known for his steady presence at the back, remains focused on the positives as Werder Bremen continue to build momentum.
One of the standout moments of the year was the club's remarkable 1-0 victory in Munich against Bayern, a match Friedl highlighted as a key moment.
However, not every match has been as straightforward. In the thrilling 4-3 victory over Hoffenheim, Friedl was forced to watch from the stands due to suspension, but the team's dramatic comeback proved that Werder Bremen are never to be underestimated.
"We've strengthened as a team. We have become more compact on the whole and also have more options on the ball," Friedl told the club's official website.
"That's exactly what we've been working on in training. The squad is pretty much the same apart from a few new additions.
"Keeping a consistent core group of players means that you have a foundation to build from, which also has a noticeable effect on development.
"Furthermore, working with the same coaching staff for the past few years as they've continued to develop is proving effective."
Looking at the bigger picture, 2024 has been a positive year for both Friedl and Werder Bremen, with a series of performances that have kept them competitive in the Bundesliga.
