Having already been confirmed as the two sides to face off at Loftus Stadium this weekend, the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in the DStv Premiership and visitors Sekhukhune played a highly defensive game.
Defender Daniel Cardoso has suggested their clash for the R7-million prize money is unlikely to be a duplication of the dull affair in the league.
"I think in that game we played three at the back. I think it was just to also test out combinations to see whether it will work. You know, with the whole season we have been playing 4-4-2, 4-4-3, so it was just to also maybe confuse people, you never know," he said.
Coach Brandon Truter did admit his side were short on numbers, with several of Sekhukhune’s key players recovering from illness.
Cardoso believes with the squad at full strength they can be a lot more aggressive.
"Pirates are a very good team, no doubt about it. You saw on the weekend they beat AmaZulu 4-0 but also at the beginning of the season we beat them 2-0," he added.
"So, I think they do want a bit of revenge. We drew with them 1-1 at their home ground. It's gonna be a very tough game but also we are gonna have a full team, no suspensions, and everyone is in full health."
