He was responding to a question about the number of missed chances during his nine-month stay at Amakhosi, following their narrow 1-0 win over Magesi FC at the FNB Stadium.
Nabi’s teams have always been high scoring in his previous spells in Morocco and Tanzania (Young Africans), but he’s struggling to replicate that at Chiefs. He looks at the difference between the two leagues.
"The two leagues are different, the Moroccan league and South African league. Even my colleague Rulani [Mokwena] said that he feels that the Moroccan league is a little bit technical and tactical but if you come back here, the best thing is we are creating opportunities,” Nabi said.
“Big clubs, like our club [Kaizer Chiefs], they need to have big players who work every day to try to score more and the players that we have, to make them improve in terms of finishing and scoring and creating opportunities. We believe that we will get there."
AS FAR scored 71 goals in Morocco last season, and Yanga scored 65 in Tanzania.
Chiefs have only netted 22 goals so far in 20 matches in the league.
Nabi says that sometimes, the profile of your players in the PSL also limits your options for how to use them best.
He gives the example of Mozambican international Edmilson Dove, who is excellent defensively but not so effective offensively as a left-back.
"Just an example sometimes if you are the team dominating but because of the profile of the players that you have, for example, you have a player like Dove playing left back, the qualities that he brings you are different than someone that can go all the way making crosses. That's why you need to adjust your team and adjust how you play," the coach added.
