Paris Saint-Germain target Victor Osimhen as Kylian Mbappe's replacement

Previously linked with a potential transfer to Chelsea, the reigning African Footballer of the Year has emerged as a prime candidate for PSG's attention following Kylian Mbappe's announcement of his departure plans this summer. 

The dynamic forward has communicated his decision not to renew his contract, creating a void that PSG aim to fill with Osimhen's prowess.

Renowned transfer market experts, David Ornstein and Peter Rutzler from The Athletic UK, have unveiled PSG's keen interest in Osimhen. 

This revelation comes with historical significance, as Luis Campos, currently serving as a Football Advisor for PSG, played a pivotal role in Osimhen's move to Ligue 1 from Sporting Charleroi in 2019. Campos, having scouted the Nigerian talent at the age of 16 during the 2015 Africa U17 Cup of Nations, holds a decade-long connection with the player.

Osimhen, valued with a release clause around ‚¬130 million, seeks a new chapter in his career after a remarkable 26-goal contribution to Napoli's title triumph in Serie A last season. 

However, Napoli's current struggle, languishing in ninth place in Serie A, have fuelled Osimhen's potential departure, adding another layer of intrigue to this unfolding transfer saga.
