"I'm really pleased to be at RB Leipzig, one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga. The important thing now is that I settle in quickly here. I want to get going right away. We've got lots to aim for this season and I want to play my part in the team reaching our goals."
The born-and-bred Berliner learnt the ropes in the youth teams of Tennis Borussia Berlin and Hertha BSC among others, before he transferred to the academy of Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2012. He was promoted to the Bundesliga with Union at the end of the season and made his top-flight debut on 18th August 2019. The opponents? RB Leipzig, who won 4-0 in Berlin. In summer 2021, Christopher Lenz signed for Eintracht Frankfurt and achieved his biggest success so far with the Hesse outfit, when he won the UEFA Europa League in May 2022. He came on as a substitute in extra time against Rangers (RB Leipzig's semi-final opponents) and converted Eintracht's first attempt in the penalty shoot-out.
