Real Madrid bounced back from their Sunday disappointment against Real Sociedad with a 2-0 La Liga victory against Valencia on Thursday.
Despite a slow start, quick-fire goals from Marco Asensio and Vinicius Jr. in the second half secured the win for the club.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted that his side struggled in the first-half, but praised Vinicius Jr.'s performance after the break.
"In the second half it was easier to put energy. Vinicius suffered a lot in the first-half, but in the second his physical level made the difference," said Ancelotti.
Unfortunately, the victory came at a cost with more injuries for Real Madrid.
Eder Militao had to be substituted in the first-half and Karim Benzema was replaced after an hour, with Ancelotti confirming that Benzema's injury is minor but Militao will not recover for Sunday's game against Mallorca.
The addition of these injuries to the already sidelined David Alaba and Ferland Mendy creates a setback for Real Madrid, who have a busy schedule ahead of them.
