The three points mean the side from the Cape Winelands rise up to third in the league standings, five points adrift of co-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
Stellies created a few opportunities in the early stages but Cupido and Fawaaz Basadien were denied the chance to open the scoring.
The visitors eventually found the opening goal on the half-hour mark when Cupido found the back of the net from close-range to open his account for Stellenbosch.
The Cape side doubled their advantage just 12 minutes later when Sanele Barns released Titus from a counter-attack and the winger made no mistake with his finish.
The Chilli Boys were much better in the second half with Bienvenu Eva Nga squandering a good opportunity to bring his team back into the contest.
Stellies though did enough over the course of the entire game to deserve the three points and go back to the Western Cape in happy spirits.
Both teams will again be league action on Saturday when Stellenbosch travel to Richards Bay while Chippa host Golden Arrows.
