Tshabalala was speaking after his side was held to a 1-all draw in the Tshwane Derby against neighbours TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies. The astute coach adds that they just need to keep on believing and not panic about who is behind them.
The Brazilians are currently top of the Hollywoodbets Super League table on 35 points, just one ahead of second-placed University of Johannesburg, with the University of the Western Cape third.
''Honestly speaking, there is no need to be concerned, we just have to look at ourselves and focus on ourselves. Last season we were in the same situation, if one follows women's football - last season at this time UWC were three points ahead of us and we managed to come strong, to the top of the table. This year is a bit different, we are on the driving seat,'' said Tshabalala.
The Tshwane Derby came at the back of the international break which Tshabalala believes broke their momentum. Sundowns Ladies were on a three-game winning streak where they had scored 16 goals without conceding.
''Maybe they took the momentum away from us. One has to consider the fact that we had about eight players in the national team, they only came back at training on Friday. So we had to manage them better,'' added Tshabalala
Tshabalala, however, is content with a draw from the Tshwane Derby, saying a loss would have been a disaster for the defence of their title.
With a talented squad of players at his disposal, Tshabalala has to make tough choices week in week out to select the best for the challenge, adding that it is never easy as they all can’t play. But he says he tries to manage it well.
Sundowns Ladies are away to Durban Ladies who are high in confidence after their win last weekend. But Tshabalala says their experience will see them through as they need to bounce back and collect maximum points.
