The Blues face Namibia’s FC Ongos after both lost their opening matches on Thursday, and will need a win to stay on track for a semifinal spot. Motau says, however, that pressure is part of the game and they are ready for the next assignment.
''That's football, football is all about pressure and how you handle it determines whether you move forward or you remain stagnant. We just see this as another opportunity to grow and grab maximum points. Yes there is pressure but we are ready for it,'' said Motau.
Motau admits that the first match was tough, but they are now looking to do better against FC Ongos.
''The first game was tough. But that was expected, we prepared for it and I think we did well under the circumstances that we were given. I was very proud of the team on how we reacted, how we came back in the second half but with football sometimes things don't go your way. I think it's just a matter of looking back at what we could have done better and focus on the next game,'' added Motau.
The midfielder says despite losing 1-0 to Green Buffaloes from a late goal in the game, they take some positives from that encounter.
''It was obviously a goal of ours to win our first game, so that we can start the tournament on a positive note. But as I said, we have many positives to pick from the first game, how we played and how we came back in the second half. With tournament football such things happening and we can not dwell in the past, we move on and focus on the next game,'' she concluded.
UWC is making their debut in the tournament, and Motau admitted that it is something they have always longed for as a team.
