Orlando Pirates will host cup final rookies Sekhukhune United at Loftus Stadium in Tshwane on Saturday, 27 May 2023, in an exciting 2022/23 season finale.

The Buccaneers will be looking to bag their second piece of silverware in what has been an impressive maiden campaign for coach Jose Riveiro, who earlier led the team to the MTN 8 crown in November last year.

Meanwhile, coach Brandon Truter will be looking to place a historic first trophy in Babina Noko's cabinet since the club was founded in 2019, and in what is only their second top-flight season since gaining promotion from the second tier in 2020/21.

For both coaches, it would be a first Nedbank Cup title, while Pirates have won the tournament on eight previous occasions – their last having come back in 2014, however, they had lost in the final both in 2016 and 2017 to SuperSport United.

This will also be the first cup meeting between the two sides, who have met four previous times in the league, with The Bucs winning twice and Sekhukhune winning once before their most recent encounter ended in a 1-1 stalemate on Saturday, 13 May.
