Xabi Alonso's new weapons join Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen have bolstered their squad with the addition of Emiliano Buendia on loan from Aston Villa for the rest of the season.

The attacking midfielder, who has scored three goals in 20 appearances for Villa this season, is expected to make an immediate impact at the BayArena.

Xabi Alonso, the coach of Bayer 04, expressed his confidence in Buendia's quick adaptation to the team.

"I know him well from Spain. He played top games at Norwich and also at Aston Villa," Alonso stated after Leverkusen's 2-0 victory against Sparta Prague in the Champions League.

"He comes from a high level of football, so I don't think he needs too much time to adapt. He can help us almost immediately," he added.

In addition to Buendia, Bayer Leverkusen have also secured the services of Spanish defender Mario Hermoso on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Hermoso, who has just arrived from AS Roma, underwent his medical and signed his contract with Leverkusen, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

This double acquisition signals Leverkusen's intent to strengthen their lineup as they chase further success in both domestic and European competitions.

With Buendia's flair and Hermoso's defensive solidity, the team looks set to maintain their competitive edge in the Bundesliga and beyond.
