Williams has been sidelined with a knee injury for most of the home summer and has now been ruled out of the upcoming IPL campaign that starts later this month.
Bosch, who had gone unsold at the mega IPL auction, will join up with a franchise that he is familiar with having played for MI Cape Town this season.
The 30-year-old took 11 wickets in eight matches to help MI Cape Town clinch their first ever SA20 trophy last month.
The right-arm seamer and lower-order big-hitter made his international debut in an ODI against Pakistan on 22 December before making his Test bow against the same opponents on Boxing Day.
Bosch was previously part of the IPL when he signed as a replacement player for the Rajasthan Royals but he has not yet played a match in the tournament.
Five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians kick off their 2025 campaign against the Chennai Super Kings on 23 March.
