The Netherlands recovered from 91 for six to make 262 all out, with Sybrand Engelbrecht (70) and Logan van Beek (59) sharing a seventh-wicket partnership of 130.
Dilshan Madushanka and Kasun Rajitha took four wickets apiece.
Sri Lanka reached their target with 10 balls to spare as Sadeera Samarawickrama made an unbeaten 91 from 107 balls in a reply of 263 for five.
Sri Lanka move on to meet England in Bangalore on Thursday, while the Netherlands take on five-time champions Australia in Delhi on Wednesday.
Both teams are now on two points, two points outside the top four in the group table.
