Walter on Wednesday named a 12-player squad, which will be further strengthened once the SA20 season is wrapped up, with pace bowler Gerald Coetzee the most notable inclusion after his time out injured.
Coetzee has recovered from the left-hamstring injury that restricted his SA20 campaign to just one appearance, after it also ruled him out of the recent Pakistan in-bound tour, and is poised to replace the injured Anrich Nortje in the Champions Trophy squad.
There are also six uncapped players named in the side, including Dafabet Warriors duo Matthew Breetzke and Senuran Muthusamy, North West University Dragons pair Gideon Peters and Meeka-eel Prince, as well as Hollywoodbets Dolphins all-rounder Eathan Bosch, and World Sports Betting Western Province bowler Mihlali Mpongwana.
Following the completion of their SA20 campaign with the Durban Super Giants, Keshav Maharaj and Heinrich Klaasen will miss the first match on 8 February, as they only travel to Karachi on 9 February.
The squad for the remainder of the tri-nation series will be announced on 09 February after the Betway SA20 Final.
The rest of the Champions Trophy squad, namely, Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Rassie van der Dussen are expected to arrive in Pakistan on 14 February.
