JP Duminy steps down from his role as Proteas white-ball batting coach

JP Duminy has stepped down as the Proteas white-ball batting coach with immediate effect due to personal reasons, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed.

Duminy has been part of the Proteas coaching staff in T20I and ODI cricket since Rob Walter was appointed as head coach in March 2023.

The 40-year-old Duminy, who made 326 appearances in international cricket during his playing career, was with the Proteas side that reached the semi-finals of the 50-over World Cup in India last year.

CSA said in a statement that the process to find a suitable replacement will begin in due course.

The Proteas have six white-ball matches (three T20Is and three ODIs) against Pakistan that will start from 10 December.

CSA batting lead Imraan Khan will most likely step in on an interim basis for the Pakistan series until a candidate is appointed.
