Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the Super Giants lost a couple of early wickets but recovered beautifully thanks to an unbeaten 83 from Proteas star Quinton de Kock, while JJ Smuts contributed a quickfire 52 and Heinrich Klaasen joined De Kock at the death, smashing 30 off just nine deliveries.
Klaasen and De Kock went berzerk in the last two overs, adding 40 more runs to take a decent total and turn it into a formidable one as the Super Giants finished on 190/3.
Despite a bright start, the Royals' chase never really got going, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals after opener Jason Roy fell in the fourth over.
Only Jos Buttler provided any real resistance, his 45 off 36 deliveries keeping the innings going while all around him were losing their wickets.
Marcus Stoinis picked up 3/24 while Reece Topley and Keshav Maharaj both picked up two apiece as the Royals were bowled out for 133 with three balls remaining.
