As the 2022 Commonwealth Games fast approaches, Team South Africa has announced the final squads for the women's T20 cricket and netball.

The event is set to be staged in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from 28 July until 8 August.

A 15-member cricket team will be making their debuts at the Games, lead by Momentum Proteas captain Sune Luus while a number of experienced members such as Marizanne Kapp and Chloe Tyron have also been roped in.

Team SA™s women are in Group B, alongside New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka, and will begin their campaign on July 30 against the White Ferns, before they face England on August 2 and Sri Lanka on August 4, at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

Meanwhile, Bongi Msomi will captain a strong 12-member netball squad that will be looking to compete for a medal, after they missed out on a semi-final spot at the previous event in 2018.

Team SA are pitted against Australia, Jamaica, Scotland, Wales and Barbados in Group A, where the top two will advance and face the top two from Group B, which consists of New Zealand, England, Malawi, Uganda, Trinidad & Tobago and Northern Ireland, in the last four on August 6.
