This follows reports in the Zambian media earlier this week that transfer talks between Salle’s club Nchanga Rangers and Chiefs had broken down, as the two clubs could not agree on the valuation of the player.
But the latest developments are that the two parties are back on the negotiation table, which paves the way for Saile to negotiate personal terms with Chiefs.
Saile, who spent two weeks on trial with Chiefs in December and is said to have impressed head coach Arthur Zwane and his technical team, comes highly recommended from the Zambian Super League.
He was the top goal scorer at Rangers with six goals and seven assists, he added two goals to take his tally to eight this afternoon when they won over Zanaco, with SABC Sport sources tipping this to have been his sendoff game before moving to Johannesburg.
Chiefs is in desperate need of a striker, to complement Burundian international striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who is a joint league top goal scorer with seven goals.
Saile (22), who can play as a winger and also as a number nine was the top goal scorer for Rangers last season with 19 goals, and helped promote them to the Zambian Super League. He has previously played for St Eloi Lupopo back in DRC and also for TP Mazembe as a youngster.
His imminent arrival at Amakhosi would come at a time when the Soweto giants are struggling, having suffered back-to-back defeats including Friday night’s humiliating 4-0 defeat in the Dstv Premiership against AmaZulu.
